Two Track Trotting Records Dave Pulsifets Sway back Tenny Wins the Eatontown Stakes at Monmouth Dethoit Mich Aug 2 One of the grandest and most interesting trotting races ever witnessed took place this aft noon at the Detroit Driving Park be tween George H Middletons gray geld ing Jack and Senator Stanfords bay stallion Palo Alto A pleasant day warm but favorable to racing a hard smooth track and no wind combined to make today a grand one for a speed contest.

It was really a trifle warm for spectators still nearly 4500 people passed through the turnstile and it is safe to say that hardly one of them failed to do some cheering. Not only were the social and mercantile leaders of the city there but other portions of the state contributed to the attendance.
