The two things scarcely resemble each other nevertheless the latter doubt lessly has its charms otherwise one campaign would cure every soldier of his dream of glory. In our present number we have sveral illustrations of the contretemps of war.

On page 277 we give one where the horses haying given up in a storm that su pertor animal man showed how far two legs were superior to double that number and dragged the baggage wagon on its way. On the same page we have another instance of what a featherbed soldier has to expect in real campaign for our Artist has sketched the bivouac accommodations of the field offi cers of General Bankss division.
