When the members of the board of education met last evening they found themselves confronted bv c delegaJtion of ladies composed of r Emmeline B Wells Virginia Stephens and oth ers who were there tO protest in the matter of the resolution against em ploying married women for teachers in the nublic schools. The board gave them a chance r speak and then fled to the elusIon of the vault and held an executive session over the matter o adoption or rejection of the resolution not caring to face the delegation of ladles. Mrs Wells was the first speaker after the protest of the teachers had 1 been read.

She spoke by invitaition and expressed much surprise over the fact that a board like this would.
